Who is Jigglypuff?

Jigglypuff is a round pink balloon with big eyes and a curl of hair on its forehead, and its defining trait is a lullaby. In the Pokémon games its song puts opponents to sleep; the animated series turned that into a running joke in which Jigglypuff performs, everyone falls asleep, and it scribbles on their faces with a marker in revenge. That joke made it one of the most memorable characters of the original series. Jigglypuff was also one of the first fighters in Super Smash Bros. in 1999. Its Japanese name, Purin, means pudding. Originally a Normal type, it gained the Fairy type in 2013.
