Who is Beavis and Butt-Head?

Beavis and Butt-Head are two teenage metal fans who sit on a sofa, watch music videos and laugh at things. Mike Judge first drew them in a short called Frog Baseball, shown on MTV's Liquid Television in 1992, and their own MTV series began in 1993. The show mixed crude animated stories with the pair's running commentary on real music videos, and it was one of the most talked-about programmes of the decade. Judge voices both. A film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, followed in 1996, and the characters returned in 2011 on MTV and again on Paramount+ from 2022. Their shirts are almost all retro 1990s MTV-style designs. Beavis also has a sugar-fuelled alter ego, the Great Cornholio, which became one of the most quoted bits of the show.
