Who is Daria Morgendorffer?

Daria Morgendorffer is a smart, sardonic teenager who regards her suburban high school with flat disapproval. She first appeared in 1993 as a minor character on Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head, and MTV gave her a spin-off, Daria, developed by Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn, which ran from 1997 to 2002. Tracy Grandstaff voiced her in a low monotone. The show followed Daria and her friend Jane at Lawndale High and became a touchstone for viewers who felt out of place at school. Daria's round glasses, green jacket and unimpressed expression are the design, and her dry lines are the most common shirt text. Episodes follow her through school assemblies, family dinners and the popularity of her younger sister Quinn, who pretends they are not related. The series ended with two television films, Is It Fall Yet? in 2000 and Is It College Yet? in 2002.
