Who is Brian Griffin?
Brian Griffin is the Griffin family's dog: he walks upright, drinks martinis, drives, and considers himself a serious writer despite little evidence. Seth MacFarlane developed him from a dog character in his student films and voices him in his own natural speaking voice. Brian is the show's intellectual and frequently its hypocrite, and his pairing with baby Stewie became one of Family Guy's most popular formats, including a run of musical Road to... episodes. In 2013 the show killed Brian off and brought him back two episodes later after a strong reaction from viewers. His unpublished novel, Faster Than the Speed of Love, is a running joke about his literary ambitions, and he is the one member of the household who clearly understands everything Stewie says.
