Kenny McCormick is the boy in the orange parka whose words come out muffled, and who in South Park's early seasons died in almost every episode, only to return in the next one. Trey Parker and Matt Stone first drew him in The Spirit of Christmas shorts in the 1990s, and the series began on Comedy Central in August 1997. His death became the show's best-known running joke, with his friends' exclamation repeated each time. The writers killed him for most of season 5 and brought him back at the end of season 6.
