Who is Cyborg?
Cyborg is one of the few superheroes whose powers are unambiguously a disaster that happened to him. Victor Stone was a promising athlete catastrophically injured in an accident at his father's laboratory, and his father saved his life by replacing most of his body with experimental technology without asking. The stories that work are about that: a young man who did not consent to what he now is, whose relationship with his father is the source of both his survival and his resentment, and who cannot pass as ordinary in the way most heroes can. His 2011 promotion from the Teen Titans to the Justice League made him one of the very few Black characters in DC's founding line-up, which was the point of the move.
