Who is Moon Knight?
Moon Knight is Marc Spector, a former mercenary who believes he was brought back from death by Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon, and fights crime in a white hooded cloak marked with a crescent. Doug Moench and Don Perlin introduced him in Werewolf by Night #32 in 1975. Later writers made his dissociative identity disorder central to the character, with separate identities including Steven Grant and Jake Lockley. Oscar Isaac played him in the Disney+ series Moon Knight in 2022. The white cloak and crescent symbol are the design. Early stories used gadgets and a network of allies, and later runs by writers including Warren Ellis and Jeff Lemire reshaped him into one of Marvel's most psychological heroes. The Disney+ series also featured May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly and Ethan Hawke as the villain Arthur Harrow.
