Who is Mega Man?
Mega Man is a blue robot boy with an arm cannon who defeats a series of robot bosses and takes each one's weapon. Capcom released the first game for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, and in Japan he is called Rockman. His look was created by Akira Kitamura and refined by Keiji Inafune, who has said the blue came partly from the console's colour palette, which had more usable shades of blue than of other colours. The games let players choose the order of bosses, which, combined with the weapon-copying, made them famous for their difficulty and replay value. Mega Man 2 in 1988 is the best-selling of the original series. The 8-bit sprite is the design fans wear most.
