Who is Daniel Tiger?

Daniel Tiger is a four-year-old tiger in a red sweater who helps preschoolers learn to handle feelings and everyday situations. Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood began on PBS Kids in 2012, made by Fred Rogers Productions and developed by Angela Santomero. The character is the son of Daniel Striped Tiger, a puppet from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, and his red cardigan is a tribute to Fred Rogers. Each episode teaches a short strategy song for moments such as feeling angry or trying new food, and parents often repeat the songs at home. Shirts for this character are almost entirely toddler and preschool sizes. The show is set in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe from the original programme, and Daniel's friends include O the Owl and Katerina Kittycat, relatives of puppets from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Like Fred Rogers, Daniel speaks directly to the viewer.
